Not only is it an English county, but the Isle of Wight is also an island in the English Channel. Separated from Hampshire by an area of water known as the Solent, it is a popular holiday destination and is world famous for Cowes and its challenging sailing waters.
No visit to the Isle of Wight is complete without a visit to the Needles, which is a row of three unique chalk based stacks that rise out of the sea on the western edge of the island. Newport is the county town, and with Ryde, Sandown and Shanklin being the other major towns - and these towns provide a reasonable selection of shops to buy toys from.
Nearly 500 miles of road connect all the major places on the island, and regular ferries carry cars and passengers to the mainland. Although the towns are relatively small, the toy shops all have good selections for residents and visitors alike.
