Newport in South Wales is classified as a city with its own unitary authority; this area is known as Casnewydd in Welsh. With a population of almost 150,000, Newport is well served with several shopping centres on the outskirts including the massive Cwmbran, as well as the modern Kingsway in the centre of the city.
Newport toy shops are split between the multiple groups like Games Workshop who all sell small selections, and the independent toy shops that are scattered around the city. These specialise in specific ranges of toys, hobbies, dolls or games and puzzles. Poppys Toy Box and Total Toys each have good toy ranges, whilst Western Valley Models and Trackside Spares complement each other with their ranges of construction kits and model railway equipment.
