Ottie and the Bea is a brilliant independent children’s store at Blackheath Standard, London. Created by Julia Marsen Dyer and inspired by their two daughters and their families love of play, they dreamt of a unique and magical place.
When you step into the store, it is a place of colour and possibility, where creativity and play are valued. Stock is carefully chosen considering usability, design and value. This formula ensures that it's very hard to leave the store uninspired (or empty handed).
Brands stocked include Djeco, Rice, KidsonRoof, Maileg and Abrams&Chronicle Books, as well as a constant new stream of stock for even the smallest of purses. Their book range has grown since they opened in 2009 and local children regularly take part in book clubs.
Creative events all year round ensure that Ottie and the Bea is so much more than a toy store. It’s a place where individual creativity is nurtured. They also stock and hire out yummy and eco-friendly party goods and tableware.
Julia and her staff (often family members) ensure that every customer feels welcome and comfortable, and are on hand to give practical tips that are invaluable for gift shopping.
