Like many London suburbs, Barnet's High Street has had to contend with increased competition from large shopping centres in the last few years, but the town remains a lively shopping destination with a good choice of toy shops.
Alongside the usual chain stores like Toys 'R' Us and Early Learning Centre, Barnet is home to several traditional, independent toy retailers such as Clever Toys and Roundabout Bears. There is also a very interesting Barnet toy shop called Treeblocks that specialises in selling wooden toys that have been produced in a socially and ecologically responsible way.
