The Victorian Box Company is a family-run business based in Guildford, Surrey. They make solid wood toy and blanket boxes using traditional joinery.
The company was started when the founder was unable to find a quality toy box for his daughter. He researched how the Victorians made their blanket boxes - some of which are still in daily service after 100 years. He set up a small workshop and started to make toy boxes to the same time honoured quality of the original Victorian craftsmen.
All the boxes are made from ethically sourced redwood pine, and they have traditional dovetail joints, as well as offering a range of finishes.
Cast iron hinges and handles give a traditional feel and are robust enough to last a lifetime. These are strong enough to be your child's toy box, and when they grow older they can serve as their blanket box. Some people even use them as coffee tables or window seats.
