As a medium-sized town with a population of around 80,000, Harlow in Essex is firmly in the London commuter belt and its relatively flat terrain has created one of the largest networks of cycle tracks in the UK. Toys ‘R’ Us and the Early Learning Centre are just two of the shops selling toys in Harlow, but the ever expanding independent Entertainer group has a large shop in the town.
Modern shopping centres contain many the multiple chain stores that sell small ranges of TV advertised toys, whilst the modelling fraternity are well served by Horizon Hobby in Ployters Road and Marquee Models in Harvey Centre. Ethel Austin in Broad Walk is one of the town's finest boutique style shops for a great range of babies and children's clothing.
