First launched onto an unsuspecting world in 1978, the electronic Simon game was an instant hit and almost immediately became an iconic symbol of pop culture in succeeding years. Many versions and decades later, Hasbro launch the Simon Swipe Game.
The original game’s slogan still holds true:
“Simon's a computer
Simon has a brain,
You either do what Simon says
Or else go down the drain”
The bright red, green, yellow and blue colours are still there, as is the hypnotic sounds and flashing lights made by each of the different keys. This time however, players have to play the game using a swiping rather than a pressing motion. As ever, speed is of the essence – and so is a remarkable memory if you’re going to beat your friends!
