The Robotics Smart Machines set from Thames & Kosmos is an incredible kit of parts that can be used to create eight different motorised machines. The combination of engineering, physics and computer science rolled into one set is a compelling enough reason for every kid with scientific interests to want one! Designed for 8-14 year olds, a 64 page illustrated booklet of assembly instructions with useful robotic tips is included in every box.
Once assembled, kids can programme each of their creations via the smart device app available from the iOS or Android app stores. Commands through the Bluetooth enabled ultra sound sensor can include instructing motors when to switch on and off, or even when to reduce voltage in the model to save power.
There are 194 pieces in the Robotics Smart Machines kit, and once kids have mastered how to make the initial eight models they’ll have the confidence to build their own versions from scratch. Not only does this test their engineering skills, but it also helps to develop their own thought processes to eventually build a monster, dinosaur or space ship that’s totally unique
to them.
Instructions are included to build robots like a walking humanoid, a crocodile that opens its fearsome jaws when approached, or even a drone with rotating rotor blades. Really adventurous kids can even hook up a second phone on the robot and use the camera to stream information back to the controller.
The world's most famous online retailer sells an unparalleled selection of toys.
