In every Magformers piece, the magnets are safely sealed within all the edges. But because the magnets are free-spinning and rotate, they always connect when two Magformers are held together.
This makes the toys very easy to use and allow children to make 'flat' 2D plan shapes then transform their builds into 3D geometric structures by rolling them up, or pulling them up.
